Staff Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (Institute of Neurological Sciences)

Join us as a Staff Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at the Institute of Neurological Sciences within NHS Scotland.

About the Role

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, one of the UK's largest healthcare systems, employs approximately 40,000 staff delivering a wide range of services to a population of over 1.15 million, extending to 2.2 million with regional and national services.

We are seeking a Band 5 Registered Nurse for a permanent, part-time position (32.2 hours per week) with a shift pattern of 12 hours, covering days and nights from Monday to Sunday. The salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.

Department Details

The successful candidate will join our Critical Care Neurosciences/OMFS team in the Institute of Neurological Sciences at QEUH. Our 12-bed Critical Care Unit provides person-centred care for critically ill patients from Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. A dedicated Clinical Educator supports staff development.

Candidate Requirements
  • Current NMC UK pin is essential.
  • Experience in Critical Care is desirable but not mandatory. A post-basic critical care qualification is preferred.
  • Commitment to patient-centred care and professional development.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and a willingness to participate in service growth.
  • Understanding of patient needs or a willingness to develop this understanding.
