About the role

We are looking for a Staff Nurse to join the Haematology Transplant Unit Nursing Team at The Christie Private Care, currently rated Outstanding by the CQC. The Christie Private Care is a dedicated private centre in partnership with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, delivering a full range of diagnostic, inpatient, surgical, day case and outpatient treatment on one site. The unit provides holistic, patient‑centred care across diagnostic assessments to surgery, chemotherapy, anti-cancer drug therapies, radiotherapy and supportive care. The role involves working within an experienced nursing team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of specialist care to ensure patients are cared for in a safe, caring and comfortable environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of specialist care for haematology/oncology patients.
• Care for patients with haematological malignancies, including delivery of systemic anti-cancer treatments and management of treatment side effects.
• Provide care for patients who may require stem cell transplant (allograft and autograft) on the unit.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including consultants, resident doctors, and critical care outreach staff, to ensure safe patient care.
• Support and participate in the unit’s educational programme and professional development.
• Contribute to a low nurse-to-patient ratio (1:3) and maintain high standards of holistic care.
• Lead and motivate a team where applicable, and participate in service development and improvements.

What you'll bring

• Registered General Nurse with valid NMC pin.
• Experience working in an NHS or Private Hospital Ward setting.
• Post‑registration experience within haematology or oncology is desirable; not essential if the candidate is highly motivated and committed to development.
