Band 5 Staff Nurse

Location: G1, Frimley Park Hospital

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the G1 Ward team within our cancer and chemotherapy services and general medicine. This is a fantastic chance to gain experience in a specialist haematology and medicine setting, with support to develop your skills and confidence in delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, compassionate, and effective care to patients receiving intensive chemotherapy
  • Support coordination of the daily patient list and assist with workload allocation
  • Administer chemotherapy safely and in line with best practice guidelines (training will be provided where needed)
  • Triage and assess patients using the UKONS system
  • Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual patient care with minimal supervision
  • Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that treatments are correctly carried out in accordance with given policy
  • Responsible for the assessment of complex care needs of chemotherapy patients and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care
  • Lead and monitor the performance and standards of care within the Nursing Team
  • Work collaboratively with the other members of cancer services team to facilitate the development of the service
