Job description

We are seeking motivated nurses with a passion for delivering excellent patient care to join our team on Ward 11A.

As a Staff Member on Ward 11A, you will have opportunities to care for a range of medically optimized patients with complex needs, supported by highly trained professionals.

Specializing in rehabilitation for frail and elderly patients, we provide excellent care through a multidisciplinary team including Healthcare Assistants, Nurses, ACPs, therapy teams, and Nurse Specialists. All disciplines work closely to ensure high-quality care.

If you have experience working with patients with multiplex needs, we would love to hear from you. If not, rest assured you will receive full support through your induction to prepare you for our busy ward environment.

This role offers Registered Nurses the chance to expand their skills within a rehabilitation setting. Whether you are starting your nursing career, seeking a change, or returning to practice, we welcome your application.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Formulate and implement individual patient care plans in partnership with the team leader.
  2. Participate in holistic patient assessments and review care plans; act as named nurse or associate for assigned patients from admission to discharge.
  3. Engage in research or special projects as directed.
  4. Contribute to maintaining standards of care within the ward.
  5. Ensure all equipment is in safe working order.
  6. Participate in internal rotations including night and twilight shifts.
  7. Promote effective communication within the ward and with other departments.
  8. Safeguard vulnerable patients according to policies.

Professional and Clinical Responsibilities
  • Maintain NMC registration and adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Provide appropriate nursing care aligned with clinical guidelines.
  • Participate in infection prevention and control activities.
Administrative, Teaching, and Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Keep accurate patient records according to policies.
  • Participate in teaching students and in-service training; act as facilitator/mentor/preceptor as appropriate.
  • Supervise Healthcare Assistants and junior staff nurses as deemed competent.
Research & Audit

Engage in research and special projects as directed.
