Job summary

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision.
• Ensure assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based care.
• Provide individualised patient care.
• Assist and advise staff, both registered and unregistered in delivering patient care.
• Organise workload to ensure efficient use of time.
• Assist in orienting new staff and students.
• Ensure nursing practices comply with Trust policies and procedures.
• Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide information as requested.
• Assist in teaching and developing nursing assistants and students to achieve learning outcomes.

Applicants will need to demonstrate a dynamic, hardworking, and passionate approach to delivering high quality patient care. The ability to administer IV drugs is essential. Venipuncture / Cannulation, and ILS are desirable but not essential.

• Assist in the teaching and development of nursing assistants and students helping them to achieve their learning outcomes.
