Job description

Job overview

The modality specialises in interventional procedures such as vascular angiography, nephrostomies, biliary stenting, embolization, ultrasound-guided biopsies, diagnostic coronary angiography, and pacemaker insertion. The nursing team also assists with the care of patients attending other Medical Imaging modalities such as CT, ultrasound, and the main x-ray department. Additionally, we provide the Radiology nurse/radiographer-led vascular access service for the Trust.

The Interventional Radiology (DSA) Suite is a dynamic and exciting environment. The post holder will be part of a small, established team of nurses, radiographers, Consultants, and support staff committed to providing high-quality patient care.

Main duties of the job

Competence in intravenous drug administration is ideal; however, training and support will be provided. This is a unique opportunity for nurses to expand their skills in interventional radiology through a comprehensive training program. You will learn to be a scrub nurse, circulating nurse, and assist in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-recovery care of patients undergoing interventional radiology and cardiology procedures. A commitment to personal development and an interest in the future of imaging services are essential.

If you are enthusiastic, motivated, and eager for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you.
