Main duties of the job: We are looking to appoint a nurse to a Band 5-6 development post to join IST in E&N Hertfordshire. It is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week over a 7-day rota, permanent position. You will have a set of competencies to work through to progress to a Band 6 post. You will initially be employed as Band 5 whilst working through your Band 6 competencies, which you are expected to demonstrate competently in practice. The expected time to complete competencies is approximately 6 months. Upon successful achievement, your salary will be reviewed and your pay band confirmed at Band 6, Step 1. If competencies are not met, an action plan will be implemented to support you in addressing the gaps; you would remain as a Band 5, and the Band 6 opportunity will not be confirmed at that time. IST nursing within the Specialist Learning Disability Service collaborates with the MDT, including Psychiatry, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Arts Therapists. You will receive in-house training for Positive Behaviour Support and support individuals and their carers in developing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support plans. You will hold a clinical caseload and participate in joint case holding with the MDT. Regular supervision and CPD opportunities will be provided to support your professional development.
