Job summary

The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse for Woodley Ward, focusing on Older Care. The ward has recently been redesigned to be dementia-friendly following substantial funding, and an enhanced recovery pathway is being piloted to improve outcomes for older patients.

You will provide high-quality nursing care, undertake assessments, plan care, and work with the multidisciplinary team to support research and development in older adult care.

Qualifications

• Undertake comprehensive nursing assessment and planning, delivering and evaluating high standards of evidenced-based nursing care to a diverse group of patients.
• Provide supervision and support to junior staff, students and non-registered workforce as required.

Responsibilities

• The post holder is responsible for undertaking and recording a comprehensive nursing assessment and planning, delivering and evaluating high standards of evidenced based nursing care to a diverse group of patients.
• Is expected to deliver care without direct supervision. Is accountable for the care delivered and any omissions of care.
• Is expected to teach and supervise more junior staff, students and the non-registered nursing workforce.
