Job description

Overview

We are looking for enthusiastic, knowledgeable and motivated nurses to provide outstanding clinical nursing care within the Critical Care department at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley.

Our multidisciplinary team are friendly and proactive, providing level 3 and level 2 Critical Care in a purpose built, spacious ten bedded unit. This busy, dynamic unit admits emergency and elective admissions from a variety of specialities. As part of the Critical Care cross site department, we also work collaboratively with the Critical Care units at the Denmark Hill site for both the delivery of patient care and provision of education. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our dedicated Critical Care workforce in a prestigious Trust where we are motivated by innovation, the desire to make a difference and our passion for patient centred care.

We offer our nurses the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills from world leading experts in critical care, with bedside level educational support on shift, completion of nationally accredited competency documents, and career progression including education and specialist roles.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality nursing care within a multi-disciplinary Critical Care team in a level 2/3 unit.
  • Monitor, assess and manage critically ill patients; deliver care in a safe and effective manner.
  • Supervise and develop other members of staff and learners as appropriate.
  • Maintain personal professional development with available support and opportunities for education and progression.
  • Deliver services in a high quality, courteous and patient-focused manner.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Committed to working in Critical Care nursing with a patient-centred approach.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and provide support to patients and families.
  • Willingness to engage with ongoing education and competency documentation; participate in educational and specialist roles as part of career progression.
