Job summary

Frimley Park Hospital is recruiting two Band 5 Nurses to join the Intensive Care team on a 12-month secondment. The Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust operates across Frimley, Ascot and Slough, offering a supportive and collaborative environment.

Our Critical Care Unit manages Level 2 and Level 3 patients with a strong education ethos and practice development support. You will contribute to high standards of care, participate in rotas including night shifts, and develop your acute care skills

Qualifications

• Minimum six months’ post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in collaboration with specialist and senior clinical staff.
• Contribute to setting, monitoring, and evaluating standards of patient care.
• Actively support and promote health and wellbeing initiatives.
• Demonstrate and uphold a strong understanding of infection prevention and control, promoting best practice within the unit environment.
• Deliver and maintain high standards of patient care based on evidence-based practice and current research.
• Participate in the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of nursing care.
• Maintain accurate, legible, and comprehensive patient records in line with Trust and NMC standards and guidelines.
• Escalate and communicate any incidents, complaints, or team-related issues to the Team Leader as appropriate.
• Work in accordance with Trust policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards.
• Maintain and develop your professional portfolio and personal development profile.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Band 5 Nurses to join the Intensive Care team at Frimley Park Hospital on a 12-month secondment. As part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, we operate across three hospital sites in Frimley, Ascot, and Slough, offering a supportive and collaborative working environment.

Our Critical Care Unit comprises 12 beds, caring for a mix of Level 2 (HDU) and Level 3 (ITU) patients. We are proud of our comprehensive education programmes, supported by a dedicated practice development team, ensuring staff at all levels develop the essential knowledge and skills required to thrive in our busy yet friendly unit.

Candidates should have a minimum of six months’ post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting, with up-to-date clinical knowledge. A proactive approach to developing acute care skills and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic team are essential.

We offer flexible working patterns, including both short and long shifts. All staff are expected to participate in a rota that includes night duty.
