We are seeking a friendly, self- motivated and dynamic individual to join our team providing clinical care within our Short Stay Paediatric Assessment Unit (SSPAU) at Northumbria Hospital. The SSPAU includes a Paediatric Emergency Department and a Short Stay Unit, providing care for children and young people across Northumberland and North Tyneside.
We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and expert clinical practitioner in the acute care of children, young people and their families. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential along with the ability to work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team.

The Children's Emergency Care Unit and 14 bedded short stayfacilitycaters for children aged 0-16 years who require emergency assessment and treatment with a 24 hour inpatient facility if required.
We also provide supportto medical staff in clinicand day case settings at North Tyneside General Hospital andWansbeck General Hospital.
Successful candidates will be able to access preceptorship, clinical supervision and a suite of training and development opportunities to equip them to work in an emergency care environment and further their careers.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres.

To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the ward team under the direction of the Ward Manager.
To be responsible for the organising and co-ordination of nursing services in the ward/department in the absence of senior staff on a regular basis.
To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
To be responsible for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams.
