Job description

Come and make a difference by joining our dedicated nursing team on the Medlock Unit, based in the new Dyson Cancer Centre at the RUH.

We are seeking a kind, caring, and motivated nurse to join our passionate and highly skilled multi-professional team. A genuine interest in developing or enhancing competency in Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) is desirable.

Our Medlock Unit offers opportunities to broaden your skills and knowledge in supporting patients receiving SACT and supportive treatments in an acute cancer setting. You will receive an individualized induction program, including visits to adjacent areas within the department, followed by the completion of the UK Oncology Nurses competency passport within 6 months.

Once established, career development is encouraged. Cancer Care qualifications are available to support your professional growth and the service's needs.

The service is expanding into the community, and the role will include working at Frome Community Hospital as required.

Our team aspires to be compassionate, supportive, personal, and open. Patient and family experience is central to our work. We value clinical and technical skills, along with a deep awareness of our patients' needs, supporting them and their families throughout their treatment. Your role will be key in ensuring high-quality care and a positive cancer journey for our patients.

Informal visits are encouraged. Please contact Helen Bond or Hayley Beer, Senior Sisters, at 01225 824852, Monday to Friday.

To be considered, you must hold a valid UK NMC registration or be currently studying towards a nursing qualification in the UK.

At the RUH, we prioritize people, working together as one team to make a difference. We value everyone’s contribution in supporting person-centered care.

We are committed to creating a compassionate and inclusive environment, celebrating diversity through staff networks and promoting kindness and civility.

Our culture emphasizes learning, development, and innovation. We support your career growth to its full potential.

Staff wellbeing is important to us, with a comprehensive support program covering physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial health. We even have a pool!

We invite you to learn more about living and working in Bath, our staff benefits, and our commitment to healthcare innovation at the Dyson Cancer Centre.
