Main duties of the job


  • To carry out all appropriate care interventions and assume the role of nurse-in-charge or care lead as required.

  • To supervise junior staff, including students

  • To apply enhanced knowledge, skills, experience and leadership appropriate to the care setting

  • To play an active part in providing up to date, research nursing based care to patients with learning disabilities, which improves lives and provides a positive experience for patients.

  • To act as a team leader in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised programme of care either in the community or inpatient services.

  • To act at all times in a manner that enhances the reputation of the service, particularly
