Job description

As a registered Nurse you'll work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing direct patient care. No two days are the same. Depending on what type of nursing you choose to specialise in, you could spend your time helping support people with learning disabilities, providing end of life care or saving lives on the AMU.

As your career progress, you could specialise in an area of nursing or you could take part in further postgraduate studies to become a more senior nurse, such as a ward manager, sister or matron.

Following successful completion of preceptorship, if newly qualified, or following SPN period if you have previous Band 5 experience, you will be required to take charge of an area for a span of duty.

As band 5 RN on AMU you will be responsible and accountable for assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care.

Work as a member of the multi‑disciplinary team and undertake delegated tasks from the ward manager/charge nurse.

The post holder will always work within the NMC's Code of professional conduct.
