Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care for a named caseload of patients.

• Liaise with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to a critical, analytical approach to care delivery and change implementation.
• Participate in audits and maintain clinical knowledge.
• In absence of the Ward/Departmental Manager, act as shift coordinator.
• Act as a preceptor, Practice Assessor/Supervisor and NVQ assessor to junior staff and students.
