Staff Nurse

The closing date is 15 October 2025

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of needs, development of programmes of care and the implementation of these programmes for patients and their relatives.

  • To provide a high standard of clinical nursing within the department
  • To manage groups of patients
  • To take charge of the clinic when rostered and assessed as competent to take on the role.
  • To act as a role model to students and nursing associates
  • To present a positive, professional image of the organisation and the nursing team.
Main duties of the job
  • To ensure that all activities are in keeping with the NMC professional code of practice
  • To follow the divisional and UHNM policies and procedures
  • To report the condition of patients clearly and precisely to the nurse in charge, medical or paramedical staff to to receive and follow instructions related to patient care.
  • To assist staff with procedures while maintaining privacy and dignity.
  • Maintaining the custody and administering of drugs in line with trust policy.
  • Maintain and promote professional standards of behaviour and dress acting as a role model to others
  • To have an understanding of the UHNM policy regarding complaints raised by patients or relatives.
