Job summary

Jersey Hospice Care is seeking a Staff Nurse for its In Patient Unit (IPU) on a permanent, full-time basis. The postholder will plan, deliver and evaluate palliative care for IPU patients, under professional accountability.

The IPU operates 24/7 and the post holder will work a range of shifts across days and nights. A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience and current NMC Part 1 registration are required, with a commitment to CPD in Palliative Care.

Job description

Jersey Hospice Care is looking for a Staff Nurse to join the In Patient Unit (IPU), on a permanent, full-time basis.

The postholder will act as a practitioner with professional accountability to effectively plan, deliver and evaluate palliative care to patients within Jersey Hospice Care.

The In Patient Unit provides care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The post holder will be required to work a range of shifts across the 24 hours, including rotation between days/nights.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience, hold 1st level Adult Registered Nurse (1st Degree/ Diploma) with current registration on part 1 of the NMC register, and be committed to undertaking specific academic and competency based CPD in the Palliative Care specialty.
