Qualifications

  • A current NMC registration RN, RMN, RNLD.
  • A legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Active participation in the multidisciplinary team, formulating care plans.
  • Assess and manage risks identified through assessment of patients/residents.
  • Regularly review risk factors and modify care plans as appropriate.
  • Act as the primary nurse for inpatient stay.
  • Ensure clinical practice is evidence-based and consistent with relevant guidelines.
  • Undertake clinical supervision to further develop competence and clinical practice.
  • Act as a mentor/preceptor to students/support workers.
  • Supervise junior staff in carrying out their care plans.
  • Liaise effectively with all involved in the care process.
  • Maintain relevant knowledge and skills; participate in further training.
  • Comply with Health and Safety Policies to contribute to safe working practices.
  • Protect vulnerable adults/children and act as a Patient Advocate.

We'd like you to join us as a Staff Nurse at our Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Bristol.

At Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre we work to enable patients to achieve clearly defined and agreed goals. We treat individuals from the age of 16 with an acquired or traumatic brain injury. We're committed to ensuring our residents feel safe, happy and empowered.

What you'll be working:

We're flexible, so you'll work a total 37.5 hours per week, on a rota basis

(Days, Nights, Weekends)

What you'll be doing:

  • To be an active participant in the multidisciplinary team, formulating care plans and utilising appropriate assessments.
  • In conjunction with other health professionals, assess and manage risks identified through assessment of patients/residents.
  • To regularly review risk factors and work in conjunction with other health professionals to modify care plans as appropriate.
  • Where applicable, to act as the primary nurse for inpatient stay.
  • To ensure that clinical practice is evidenced based and consistent with relevant
  • Guidelines (NICE, NMC, best practice) and the organisations policies and procedures.
  • To undertake clinical supervision to further develop competence and clinical practice.
  • To act as a mentor/preceptor to students/support workers or health care assistants as appropriate.
  • To supervise junior staff in carrying out their care plans.
  • To liaise effectively with all actively involved in the care process, including carers and
  • relatives, aspiring to provide an effective, seamless and integrated service to
  • patients/residents.
  • To maintain and update relevant knowledge and skills; maintain a professional portfolio and
  • participate in further training as appropriate, in order to enhance quality of care for
  • patients/residents and carers.
  • To comply with the Active Care Group Health and Safety Policies and Protocols in order to
  • contribute to safe working practices.
  • To protect vulnerable adults/children from internal/external factors and act as a Patient
  • Advocate.

Newly registered nurses joining the NMC register are supported through a site-based preceptorship programme, tailored to their individual needs, to ensure they have the best possible start to their nursing career.
