We'd like you to join us as a Staff Nurse at our Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Nottingham.
At Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre, we offer rehabilitation, care and support to people with a brain injury or other neurological condition. We provide a psychology led multi-disciplinary treatment model to deliver a high quality, specialist service for people who have a neuro disability or acquired brain injury.
Fernwood (22 beds) High dependency rehabilitation
Fernwood is for individuals with particularly complex nursing care needs. Residents may have tracheostomies, required assisted ventilation or may present with a persistent disorder of consciousness. We also care for individuals who may be in the end stage of a progressive neurological illness. Residents have access to input from the therapy team as standard. Individualised therapy or rehabilitation package tailored to individual needs and goals are also available. Fernwood is also able to provide tracheostomy weaning programmes on-site, where clinically indicated.
Millwood (23 beds) Neurorehabilitation
Millwood is for residents who have undergone acute rehabilitation and require further therapy input to reach their optimum level of recovery. We provide a range of rehabilitation therapies to help people relearn and practice everyday skills to give them the best chance of a return home.
Hazelwood (14 beds) Non-complex care and neurorehabilitation
While residents on Hazelwood have access to 24-hour nursing input from our diverse and skilled specialist nursing team, our primary focus on Hazelwood is the care and rehabilitation of individuals with no or low level nursing needs. The service is suitable for people who as a result of brain injury are unable to live at home independently, require round the clock support to manage everyday tasks, support to keep themselves safe and maintain their overall wellbeing and quality of life through performance and participation in activities of daily living and social and recreational activities. We can also offer bespoke rehabilitation and therapy packages from our specialist in-house therapy team.
We\'re flexible, so you\'ll work a total 37.625 hours per week, days & nights on a rota basis.
This role will be fully rotational, working across three distinct, yet complementary, services on one site.
Responsible for the nursing input residents receive, through nursing assessments and care planning.
Contributing towards MDT working, risk assessment management and a programme of on-going clinical improvement.
Providing written nursing reports for a range of statutory and clinical review processes.
Work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker for a defined group of patients.
Work and act as a key member of the team, supporting each patient with achieving their planned outcomes.
To ensure a comprehensive assessment is completed for the patients/residents/clients to ensure a comprehensive person-centered assessment is completed for their pathway and care plan.
Take charge of a designated clinical area.
Ensure all clinical documentation is of a high standard and patient notes are maintained and filed in the appropriate way.
Provide a highly specialised range of clinical interventions and knowledge of evidence based models of practice relevant to the patients'/residents' needs.
Working autonomously with confidence and competence to provide a highly specialised and safe service to the patient.
Adopt a flexible approach to hours of duty, in order to meet the needs of the service over a 24 hour period.
