Are you a Registered Nurse or Midwife looking to make a lasting difference to the health and wellbeing of children and young people? We're looking for a Staff Nurse to join our School Aged Health Service in Wiltshire, working as part of a skilled public health team that supports children, young people and families across the community. This opportunity allows you to develop public health nursing experience while reducing health inequalities, safeguarding vulnerable children, and improving outcomes for local families. You will play a key role in assessing health needs, supporting vulnerable children, and promoting healthy lifestyles. The position involves working with school nurses and other agencies to identify health needs, promote wellbeing, and contribute to better community outcomes. Responsibilities include health assessments, health promotion, safeguarding vulnerable children, and delivering quality care in accordance with NMC guidelines.
Established in 2006, HCRG Care Group is one of the UK's leading independent providers of community health and care services. We work with health and care commissioners and communities to transform services with a focus on experience, efficiency, and improved outcomes. You’ll assess children’s health and development, identifying any concerns or deviations from expected development whilst ensuring safeguarding principles remain at the centre of your practice. Through health promotion activities, drop-in sessions and health education programmes, you’ll encourage healthier lifestyles and improve awareness of available services and support.
Safeguarding and Multi‑Agency Working
A key part of the role will involve supporting vulnerable children and young people through collaborative working with schools, families and partner agencies. You’ll contribute to safeguarding processes, attend relevant meetings and support the planning and delivery of interventions under the guidance of a School Nurse.
Delivering Quality Care
You’ll support children and young people with chronic and complex health needs, maintain accurate clinical records and work in accordance with the NMC Code. You’ll also contribute to the development of the service and support student nurses through supervision and assessment activities.
