Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the inpatient team within ward 4, Woodland View.

Ward 4 is a 15 bedded functional assessment ward for people over the age of 65 years who require inpatient assessment and treatment for acute mental illness.

This opportunity is available to individuals who have sound clinical knowledge and a genuine interest in working with older people with acute mental illness.

The role involves working as a key component of a multidisciplinary team and as such, applicants should have excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills along with a positive attitude and a proven ability to work as part of a team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering person-centred care and evidence-based interventions and will also promote collaborative working within a multi-disciplinary team and across multi agency services. Discharge planning, robust care planning, involvement of carers and an interest in developing therapeutic activities are essential to this role and applicants must be willing to undertake training to develop skills and competencies as required.

Applicants are required to have current registration with the NMC.

This is a full time post (74 hrs a fortnight- 12 hr shifts)
