Job summary

Waymo is hiring in London for a hybrid role within the DUE Machine Learning team to build and operate scalable ML systems, simulation workflows, and evaluation tools for the Waymo driver. You will contribute to research, model training, and productionization of large models for ultra-realistic AV simulations.

The role requires 7+ years in applied deep learning and production ML, plus experience bringing research to production.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of applied Deep Learning experience.
• 7+ years of coding and design skills.
• Experience solving complex production problems using state-of-the-art ML techniques.
• Experience taking research to production.
• Expertise in Data Analysis or Data Science.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a world-class research engineering team advancing ultra-realistic AV simulations.
• Collaborate with Waymo Oxford to use large models to improve simulation realism.
• Design experiments to push AV simulation frontiers.
• Develop metrics to measure realism of simulated worlds.
• Train and evaluate large models and integrate them into the simulator and downstream apps.
• Help hire outstanding research engineers from diverse backgrounds.
• Collaborate to productionize research ideas.
• Manage a team of researchers and engineers (1+ years).
