Reed is partnering with a leading UK energy company. This is an opportunity to join an engineering team as a Staff or Senior Staff Engineer, supporting pipeline and terminal operations across the Southwest.

This is a senior role reporting directly to the Logistics Engineering Manager, focusing on asset integrity, regulatory compliance, and engineering excellence.

  • Location: South/West Wales
  • Salary: £70,000 - £80,000
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain inspection programs for pipelines and above-ground storage tanks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage routine inspection programs, develop repair strategies for defects, and set re-inspection periods using RBI (Risk-Based Inspection) systems.
  • Conduct system design reviews to ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards.
  • Lead maintenance and capital projects related to the UK & Ireland fuel storage business.
  • Coordinate and communicate changes to the asset integrity program.
  • Act as SME for asset integrity with industry regulators.
  • Perform technical assessments, develop defect acceptance criteria, and repair procedures.
  • Develop risk management programs and support the design, installation, and startup of capital projects.
  • Track costs and report on project status.
  • Supervise personnel and contractors as needed.
  • Ensure standards and procedures reflect legislative changes and industry standards.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (BEng Hons minimum).
  • Professional registration such as IMechE Chartered Engineer.
  • At least 8 years of engineering experience in Terminal/Refinery environments.
  • Experience overseeing system repairs and upgrades.
  • Familiarity with risk-based inspection, ILI tools, and inspection data management.
