Cognify Search, incorporated is seeking an experienced ML Technical Lead to shape its centralised ML function in the UK. This senior role blends hands-on technical leadership with strategic product thinking and real-world impact.

You will own the ML roadmap across product teams, mentor engineers, and drive production ML initiatives, including forecasting, optimisation and GenAI. Strong Python, system design and cloud experience are essential.

I have been retained to work with a leading technology business that is building out a new, centralised Machine Learning function and looking for an experienced ML Technical Lead to help shape its future.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone operating at Staff, Principal or Lead ML Engineer level who enjoys combining hands-on technical leadership with strategy, product thinking and real-world impact.

You'll play a key role in establishing ML as a product discipline, setting technical direction and helping teams deliver scalable ML solutions across multiple areas of the business.

What you'll be doing:

• Owning the technical direction and roadmap for ML across multiple product teams.
• Leading initiatives spanning forecasting, optimisation, predictive modelling and GenAI.
• Architecting scalable, production-ready ML systems and reusable ML APIs.
• Working closely with Product and Engineering teams to identify, prioritise and deliver high-value ML opportunities.
• Mentoring ML Engineers, raising engineering standards and helping shape a growing team.

What we're looking for:

• Experience operating at Staff, Principal or Technical Lead level within Machine Learning.
• A strong track record of delivering ML solutions into production.
• Expertise in forecasting, optimisation, recommendation systems or predictive modelling.
• Strong Python and system design skills, with an understanding of MLOps and scalable ML infrastructure.
• Experience with technologies such as Databricks, Spark, Kafka, AWS or GCP would be beneficial.
• A commercial mindset, with the ability to translate complex ML opportunities into tangible business outcomes.
• Experience within Energy, Telecommunications, Utilities, Healthcare or subscription-based businesses would be particularly interesting.
