Anthropic is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Infrastructure team to scope and lead multi-month infrastructure projects, make architectural decisions, and collaborate with research and product teams to design scalable systems.

You will own reliability, security, and performance, set standards, mentor engineers, and help align technical direction across teams in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
History of independently scoping and delivering complex, multi-month technical projects.
Experience making architectural decisions that others build on.

Responsibilities

Scope and lead complex, multi-month infrastructure projects from initial point to production.
Make architectural decisions shaping foundation for other engineers and teams.
Drive technical direction across teams amidst ambiguity.
Collaborate with research and product teams to translate needs into designs.
Own reliability, scalability, and security as usage grows.
Set technical strategy and standards for the team.
Improve incident response, postmortems, and on-call processes.
Mentor engineers to raise the team's technical bar.
