Job summary

Dex is seeking a Staff-level full-stack engineer to co-own the DevEx vision and lead a team of five engineers responsible for every customer-facing web application. You will set the technical architecture, push for rapid iteration, and ensure the team acts as principal stakeholders, not just implementers.

You report to the CTO and shape the end-to-end tech strategy for analytics, docs, marketing site, sign-up, and billing flows, while driving AI tool adoption across the stack.

Qualifications

• Must be a strong full-stack JS engineer with React/TypeScript and backend Rails/Node experience.
• Experience leading a small engineering team and managing people.
• Clear POV on developer tooling and excellent Developer Experience.
• Proven ability to integrate LLMs/AI tools into workflows with velocity gains.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of five full-stack engineers, balancing technical leadership with people development.
• Own end-to-end architecture for all customer-facing web apps: analytics, docs, marketing site, sign-up, billing.
• Drive adoption and integration of AI tools to multiply productivity and velocity.
• Set engineering excellence standards for code review, testing, and incident response.
• Collaborate with SDK and realtime infra teams to ensure cohesive developer experience.
