Job Description

About Operations Engineering Division (OED): OED is the central team supporting all Business Unit Design and Development teams, as well as other organizations including Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Foundry Operations, and Test. OED manages process technology and PDK development for internal and external foundry processes. Our team, comprising mostly MS/PhD professionals, focuses on Test Technology, Foundry Operations, and Yield management, contributing to aggressive NPI strategies and continual cost and margin improvements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Act as a device/process expert supporting all Renesas design teams, collaborating closely with design, technology, and operations teams to ensure successful delivery of design solutions.
  2. Interface among OED Engineering teams (Process Technology, PDK Development, Quality) and Product Groups and Sales/Marketing to facilitate smooth New Product Introduction to Ramp execution.
  3. Support and guide product design teams on process technology options, power device layout/usage, and general design activities.
  4. Collaborate with design and layout engineers on DRC reviews, layout checks, and process verifications for successful tape-out of products.
  5. Work with quality and product engineers to address and resolve process-related yield, quality, and manufacturing issues.
  6. Coordinate with manufacturing organizations to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
  7. Contribute to process definition, documentation, management, and continuous improvement efforts.
  8. Work independently within cross-functional and international teams (US, Europe, Asia).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years in the semiconductor industry as a process/device engineer or foundry interface engineer, with experience dealing with foundries on various process technologies.
  • Expertise in devices and process technology, preferably for high voltage and power applications.
  • Understanding of analog power management circuits and ability to communicate with design teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences, with mentoring abilities.
Additional, Desired Qualifications:
  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
