Job summary

Intelligent Systems Company in London seeks an engineer to own the program evolution and optimisation loop—a large language model-guided search system that iteratively generates, evaluates, and improves programs against verifiable objectives across kernels, inference runtimes, scheduling and caching strategies, and more.

You will develop the loop as a reusable internal tool and research object, improving how it searches, measuring what makes it effective, and pushing its capabilities on

Qualifications

• Strong foundations in optimisation and search.
• Ability to reason about search itself (exploration vs exploitation, diversity, pruning).
• Strong engineering instincts; turning experimental systems into reusable software.

Responsibilities

• Develop the core program evolution loop, improving how candidates are generated, evaluated, selected, and evolved over long optimisation runs.
• Design search strategies balancing exploration, exploitation, diversity, and sample efficiency across vast spaces.
• Build continuous benchmarks measuring the optimiser across internal workloads and standalone problems.
• Turn the system into reusable internal tool scalable to new problems.
