Job summary

Digital Waffle is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead full-stack initiatives across customer-facing products. You will own solution design, architecture and implementation, shaping technical direction while delivering high-quality software in production daily.

The role combines hands-on coding with leadership, spanning backend Node.js services, frontend Vue.js work, and cloud deployments on AWS in a remote-first UK environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience with TypeScript.
• Node.js microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in Vue.js and modern frontend tooling.
• Experience with Redis, SQL Server and SingleStore.
• AWS and CI/CD implementation and operations.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on technical leadership taking ownership of solution design, architecture and implementation.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver scalable customer-facing features.
• Drive production deployments and ensure system reliability and quality.

Location: UK Remote-First / Hybrid (Portsmouth or Manchester)

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000

I am working with a leading UK SaaS business seeking an experienced Staff-Level Full Stack Engineer to help build and scale customer-facing products.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, taking ownership of solution design, architecture and implementation while working with a modern tech stack and deploying to production daily.
