Role description:

Arcadis is searching for a Staff Drinking Water Engineer to support and grow our Water team in New Hampshire and throughout New England. This candidate will use their expertise and technical knowledge to deliver design work for water/wastewater clients in New England.

Role accountabilities:

As a Staff Drinking Water Engineer, you will evaluate, plan, design, and support management of projects for water treatment, lead service lines, and conveyance (pipelines, treatment, and pumping facilities). You will exercise judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Completing technical and report writing with guidance from more senior team members will be a key part of your role.

You will perform fieldwork activities such as site visits, construction inspection, sampling, water quality analyses, asset inventory, flow monitoring setup and monitoring, technology evaluations, and plant operations information, process troubleshooting, and optimization. You will support professional engineering services during construction including construction observation, review of shop drawings, responses to RFI's, and permit closeouts.

Managing tasks as a project resource, completing activities to meet budget, timeframe, and quality objectives, and exceeding client expectations will be expected. You will also carry out investigations and analyses to develop technical solutions, and prepare documentation and reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with Arcadis standards and relevant codes.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Liaising with Project Managers/Team Leaders and clients for effective communication.
  • Contributing to technical issue resolution and providing guidance to team members.
  • Collaborating with other design disciplines to ensure overall design integrity.
  • Reviewing engineering work for standards compliance.
  • Developing understanding of Arcadis services, client’s business, and industry sector to facilitate networking and credibility.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Detail-oriented with knowledge of relevant standards and codes.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance.
  • Strong research, data gathering, technical writing, and analysis skills.
  • Developing skills in project management, relationship management, sector expertise, and commercial awareness.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering.
  • Valid driver’s license for site access.
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience and EIT Certification.

Preferred Skills:

  • New Hampshire PE License.
