Oliver Bernard is partnering with a London stealth start-up to fill a Staff / Principal role shaping architecture and setting technical direction while remaining hands-on. You’ll own the data infrastructure, design scalable platforms from the ground up, and tackle scale, security, and cost challenges. London-based with 2 days onsite. You’ll influence engineers across Data, Platform, Software and AI and stay close to production systems.
Qualifications
Proven ability to own complex, production-grade systems end-to-end.
Experience shaping architecture across multiple data and software platforms.
Excellent technical judgement and strong architectural instincts.
Ability to lead major technical initiatives as an individual contributor.
AI/ML experience is a bonus, not required.
Responsibilities
Own the technical direction of core data infrastructure.
Design and build scalable data platforms from the ground up.
Solve complex problems around scale, reliability, security & cost.
Influence engineers and raise the technical bar.
Stay hands-on with code and production systems.
Work across Data, Platform, Software & AI.
