Role: Staff Data Engineer (Snowflake expert)
Location: Dallas, TX or Scottsdale, AZ. Hybrid in-office

Overview:

The Platform Data Cloud team's mission is to reimagine supply chain technology and serve as the backbone of Blue Yonder's SaaS products. This role serves as a key global architect focusing on innovation in SaaS platform engineering, spanning infrastructure architecture through enterprise and application platform features, to accelerate our cloud data team's delivery and solution quality.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Consistently deliver high-quality design and implementation, helping shape what is built and how, including:

  • Building productionized data ingestion and processing pipelines in Snowflake
  • Understanding Snowflake Architecture
  • Being well-versed with data warehousing concepts
  • Expertise in Snowflake features and integration with other data processing tools
  • Driving product development features to improve delivery effectiveness across software development, deployment, and infrastructure
  • Providing standardized enterprise solutions for cloud infrastructure and application deployment
  • Applying software engineering patterns to build robust, scalable systems
  • Expertise in Object-Oriented and Functional programming
  • Influencing fellow engineers through proposing and reviewing software designs
  • Experience with large-scale Kubernetes systems and scaling services
  • Designing modular and service-based architectures
  • Working with a global team across US, Canada, India, and Germany, requiring quick learning capabilities
Our Current Technical Environment:
  • Tools: Java, Python, Groovy, GitHub, Node.js, React.js, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible, Docker, etc.
  • Architecture: Scalable, resilient, event-driven, secure multi-tenant microservices
  • Cloud: MS Azure (ARM, AKS, Virtual Networks, Event Hub, Azure AD)
  • Frameworks: Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spark, NoSQL, RDBMS, Spring Boot, Snowflake
What we are looking for:
  • Masters/Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (REQUIRED)
  • 5+ years in Snowflake data engineering and recent Python experience
  • Overall 10+ years in IT industry (Senior role)
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake utilities: SnowSQL, Bulk copy, Snowpipe, Tasks, Streams, Time travel, Cloning, Metadata management, Data sharing, Stored procedures, UDFs, Snowsight, Streamlit (REQUIRED)
  • Experience building robust, highly available data lakes
  • Experience with Snowflake and NoSQL datastores like Elastic and Postgres
  • Expertise in CI/CD, automation, containerization (Jira, Git, Jenkins)
  • Experience with cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP
  • Strong analytical skills for complex problem management
  • Leadership experience in software product delivery within Agile environments
  • Snowflake certification preferred
  • Experience leading high-performing development teams
  • Experience with enterprise multi-tenant software
Additional Information:

The salary range for this position is $78,022 - $163,977. Compensation will depend on skills, experience, certifications, and other factors. The role includes participation in performance bonuses or commissions.
