Hostaway is seeking a highly motivated Staff Data Engineer to join our team and drive our growth in the market.

Your Mission

You will be leading the design and implementation of our Data Engineering practice, providing robust, scalable, and cloud-native data infrastructure to fuel analytics across Hostaway.

Our Data Engineering team is focused on providing a unified data model that powers our RevOps, Product Analytics, and FinOps teams with the ability to do and build their own analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and ELT/ETL processes using modern DAG orchestration tools
  • Building out and establishing our data transformation framework using dbt
  • Ensuring a central data repository exists for consumption from our different analytics teams
  • Be a proactive, communicative, and trustworthy partner to both analytics and engineering stakeholders
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards to maintain high-quality, trustworthy data assets and ensure reporting consistency.
  • Ability to independently design and deploy cloud infrastructure required for the Data domain

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong track record of designing and implementing scalable data solutions.
  • Expert-level SQL skills, with the ability to write, optimize, and debug complex queries.
  • Extensive experience with dbt and the best-practices for building, structuring, and testing code-first transformations using Python
  • Strong experience with operating in a git-first environment and automating workflows using CI/CD pipelines
  • Proven experience building and maintaining production-grade DAG-based pipelines orchestration like Airflow or Dagster
  • In-depth knowledge of building ETL and ELT pipelines using Fivetran
  • Strong experience with streaming data architectures and (near) real-time data processing, using the Google Cloud data ecosystem
  • Deep understanding of Google BigQuery services for big data

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with DevOps infrastructure-as-code tooling like Terraform to provision cloud resources
  • Hands-on experience integrating data from Sales and Marketing platforms, such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, or Outreach.
