Job summary

Fanatics Markets is launching a new Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) product. We seek a Staff Data Analyst to lead the analytics, reporting directly to the FMX Data Director and to guide the data team from the ground up.

The ideal candidate will have strong SQL, dbt, and experience with Snowflake/Databricks, plus Python knowledge. You will partner with product leadership to drive product strategy and growth in key markets across a fast-paced fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in an analytics role, preferably in fintech or sports betting.
• Strong SQL proficiency and hands-on dbt experience for data modeling.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses like Snowflake or Databricks; Python is a plus.
• Solid understanding of statistics, multivariate testing, and experimentation frameworks.
• Ability to present complex technical insights to senior stakeholders with business context.

Responsibilities

• Build the initial data models and analytics infrastructure for the DFS product.
• Measure incrementality and impact of features via experiments and modeling.
• Serve as the data partner to the Principal Product Manager and the CPO, shaping product strategy.
• Deliver high-quality SQL queries, dbt data modeling, and automated reporting.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to solve business problems from research to production.

Role Overview

As a Staff Data Analyst at Fanatics Markets, you will drive the analytics function for our brand-new Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) product. Reporting to the Director of Data for FMX, you will be a founding member of the FMX data team.

This role is ideal for a high-intensity, technically sophisticated analyst who thrives in "0-to-1" environments where infrastructure must be built from scratch. You will be a technical leader, combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution to drive growth in our key markets.

Responsibilities

• Foundational Analytics: Build the initial data models and analytics infrastructure from the ground up for the newly launching DFS product.
• Experimentation & Impact: Measure the incrementality and impact of new features through rigorous experimentation and statistical modeling.
• Strategic Partnership: Act as the primary data partner for the Principal Product Manager and the CPO of FMX, providing insights that directly shape product strategy.
• Hands-on Execution: Deliver high-quality SQL queries, data modeling in dbt, and automated reporting to meet the high demand for insights across the FMX ecosystem.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with data scientists and engineers to find solutions to complex business problems and maintain the "research lab to factory floor" connection.

Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in an analytics role, ideally within a high-growth fintech or sports betting environment.
• Technical Mastery: Strong SQL proficiency and hands-on experience with dbt for data modeling are essential.
• Tooling: Expertise in cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or Databricks. Proficiency in Python is preferred.
• Statistical Rigor: Strong understanding of statistical concepts, multivariate testing, and experimentation frameworks.
• Communication: Ability to present complex technical insights to non-technical senior stakeholders with clarity and business context.
• Education: A degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Computer Science.

We are open to fully remote candidates based in the United Kingdom. Remote employee may also be eligible for a home office setup stipend.
