Job summary

Jobgether in the United Kingdom is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer focused on AI tooling to empower engineering teams with scalable, AI-enabled tooling and developer productivity platforms.

You will own end-to-end initiatives from architecture to production operations, guiding multi-quarter projects and mentoring engineers while collaborating with leadership on the roadmap and technical strategy.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2-3+ years at Senior or Staff level.
• Hands-on experience building and operating developer platforms and tooling (CI/CD, observability, testing infra).
• Experience delivering infrastructure or tooling that measurably improves developer velocity or reduces complexity.
• Experience leading adoption of AI-powered developer tools across an engineering org.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, development, deployment, and evolution of the developer platform and AI tooling.
• Lead multi-quarter technical projects with clear milestones and measurable gains.
• Build and operate systems for developer productivity, CI/CD, observability, and engineering metrics.
• Lead adoption of AI-powered developer tools across engineering teams.
• Define technical direction and scalable solutions for your area.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and best practices.
• Ensure reliable, secure integrations with third-party APIs and SaaS.
