Partner Company in the United Kingdom seeks a Staff AI Engineer - Developer Tools to shape AI-native developer experiences for C++ developers and modern tools. You will design and implement AI-powered capabilities that augment debugging, code understanding, refactoring, and project navigation.

In this highly hands-on role, you will prototype workflows, build evaluation frameworks, and define how AI agents interact with development environments.

Qualifications

• Senior software engineer with staff/principal level experience.
• Experience building AI-powered developer tools or coding assistants.
• Understanding of coding agents, tool calling, and AI evaluation techniques.
• Proven ability to guide technical direction in ambiguous, fast-moving spaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design for AI-powered developer experiences in C++ workflows.
• Prototype and validate AI-assisted debugging, refactoring, and navigation features.
• Collaborate with product and ML teams to define the roadmap and priorities.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership without direct people management.
