We are seeking talented individuals to join our growing team!

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the accounting operations for Convergix and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and compliance with regulations, and general ledger oversight. The primary focus of this role is the management of the general ledger, including accurate recording of financial transactions, account reconciliations, and support for the monthly close process. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of accounting principles and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of financial data.

What would a typical day be like?

• General Ledger Management & Analysis:
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, amortizations, and reclassifications.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures in accordance with established timelines.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or irregularities in the general ledger.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (or other applicable accounting standards) and company policies.
• Internal Controls & Compliance:
• Work with the team to develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial records.
• Work with the team to ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare documentation for tax filings.
• Month-End & Year-End Close:
• Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts.
• Work with the team to help prepare accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct variance analysis to monitor financial performance and recommend improvements.
• Collaboration & Strategic Support:
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure accurate accounting for transactions.
• Work with other accounting team to continue to align procedures and processes across the organization.
• Audit & External Relations:
• Coordinate and assist with both internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared.
• Process Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate accounting processes and identify opportunities for efficiency enhancements.
  • Implement best practices to streamline workflows and reduce errors.

What qualifies you for this opportunity?

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting.
• Excellent computer skills: advanced experience with Excel required
• Understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to interpret data and to present the findings to the relevant stakeholders concisely.
• Have well-developed sense of ethics and integrity
• Strong analytical skills
