The firm seeks an Assistant to provide a national cashier reconciliation service within the Business Recovery stream. The BRFS team is part of BDO’s growing SSC based in Liverpool, supporting internal business functions.

Main responsibilities include:

  1. Banking of cash and cheques, opening/closing bank accounts, and performing bank reconciliations
  2. Liaising with Banks and the Insolvency Service regarding funds
  3. Supporting cashier instructions with appropriate documentation
  4. Handling ad hoc enquiries from partners and staff
  5. Managing case time allocation, reviewing chargeability, and completing VAT returns
  6. Carrying out VAT reclaims/payments and electronic filings

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience in cash book, treasury, or cashiering (advantageous but not essential)
  • GCSE Mathematics qualification
  • Strong IT skills, especially MS Excel; willingness to learn new systems
  • Knowledge of the Insolvency system IPS (desirable)
  • Professional communication skills—verbal and written
  • Good time management, organization, and teamwork abilities
