Depending on Level of Qualification and Experience (Will be discussed with Manager)

Position Overview

The Nursery Nurse is responsible to the Manager and Deputy Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Adhere to the Policies & Procedures of the Nursery and comply with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation, Ofsted guidelines, and the EYFS.
  2. Maintain confidentiality within the nursery.
  3. Work effectively as part of a team.
  4. Care for and supervise children, addressing their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs.
  5. Plan and prepare activities tailored to children's individual needs, liaise with parents, and set working targets to ensure effective communication within the nursery.
  6. Provide all children with equal opportunities regardless of religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural, or linguistic background; actively challenge any instances of racism or discrimination.
  7. Keep development records and observations.
  8. Manage children's behavior positively.
  9. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of playrooms and equipment.
  10. Supervise and mentor Nursery Assistants and Students.
  11. Set a good example for staff and assist new staff in integrating into the nursery.
  12. Maintain and monitor accident, incident, and risk assessment records.
  13. Supervise meals and mealtimes; prepare bottles for babies where appropriate.
  14. Perform laundry duties.
  15. Attend staff meetings as scheduled by the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager.
  16. Participate in parents' evenings, publicity events, open weekends, and children's outings.
  17. Perform any additional duties as directed by the Deputy Manager and Manager.
