As a Lead Site Reliability Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within CCB, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities

  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Support the engineering teams in building fault-tolerant, scalable applications by engaging in design discussions, RFCs and code reviews.
  • Drive decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
  • Implement and regularly test DR strategies to ensure the highest level of resilience and fault tolerance of the platform.
  • Automate the installation, upgrade, scaling, and management of a large and rapidly growing fleet of Kubernetes clusters. Develop custom platform control plane webhooks, CRDs, and operators that provide a secure, opinionated platform.
  • Maintain and promote high-quality written documentation of assets, processes, and runbooks used by the team in their day-to-day operations.
  • Contribute to a team culture of equity, respect, and collaboration.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Possess an up-to-date understanding of design patterns relevant to hosting and networking architectures.
  • Proactively champion product development, driven by a desire to build truly exceptional products.
  • Have a strong background working in Python, Golang, or Java, with experience leading significant projects or initiatives.
  • Extensive experience working with Kubernetes and Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Expertise in areas such as Database Administration, Networking, Observability Tools, or infrastructure automation.
  • Ability to independently tackle design and functionality problems with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.


Additional qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in Infrastructure Architecture design.
  • Certifications in Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP).
  • Certified in Kubernetes.
