Job description

SRA PCN Operations Manager & Digital & Transformation Lead

We are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking leader to take on the role of PCN Operations Manager and Digital & Transformation Lead for Shropshire Rural Alliance PCN. This is an exciting opportunity to shape local health services, lead meaningful change, and work at the forefront of innovation in primary care.

You will lead the operational delivery of key services across the PCN, including Enhanced Access, ARRS workforce development, and digital transformation programmes such as EMIS Hub, cloud telephony, and digital triage. This role combines hands-on coordination with strategic leadership and system-level collaboration.

Based in Rural Shropshire and supported by a proactive team and federation infrastructure, this role offers variety, autonomy, and impact. You will work closely with clinical leaders, practice managers, and wider stakeholders to improve patient outcomes, reduce inequalities, and future-proof local care.

If you're passionate about making services work better, confident in managing teams and digital change, and want to play a pivotal role in transforming primary care, we'd love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of primary care. You will be based across practices in SRA PCN, working with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical teams to improve patient access, support our staff, and help services run smoothly every day.

This role offers real variety and impact. One day you could be building the Enhanced Access rota and supporting a new team member, the next you might be troubleshooting EMIS sessions, attending a system meeting, or supporting a GP practice to improve their digital triage. No two days are the same, and you will work with people across all levels of the health system.

We welcome candidates from a wide range of backgrounds including operations, service improvement, IT, practice management, digital transformation, programme delivery, NHS admin and beyond. If you are highly organised, people-focused, confident with systems, and enjoy making things work better for staff and patients, this could be your ideal next step.

About us

Our Health Partnership was set up by local GPs who are passionate about providing high-quality primary care and using their time and skills effectively to benefit patients.

We are currently a Primary Care Network made up of five GP practices supporting approximately 30,000 patients in and around rural Shropshire. (Clive, Knockin, Pontesbury & Worthen, Shawbury and Westbury)

We are an integrated community-based team delivering a range of additional services such as extended hours appointments, paramedic home visiting and first contact physiotherapists to name just a few. By working together, we can proactively offer more effective and efficient services that meet our patient needs.

Job responsibilities

As PCN Operations Manager and Digital & Transformation Lead, you will lead the coordination and delivery of services across SRA PCN. You'll oversee Enhanced Access clinics, manage the deployment and performance of ARRS roles, and act as the strategic lead for digital programmes such as EMIS Hub, cloud telephony, and digital triage.

You'll manage and support staff across practices, lead on workforce planning and transformation, and ensure services meet contractual and regulatory requirements. The role involves strong partnership working with practice teams, ICB colleagues and system stakeholders.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys improving services, working with data, leading people, and using digital solutions to enhance access and patient care.
