This role demands a highly skilled Technician, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and modifying complex electrical, mechanical, and software systems within Rivian's prototype vehicles. The technician will install instrumentation, maintain test equipment, and meticulously document all work, while collaborating closely with engineers. They will also be required to load, transport, and test drive prototype vehicles, often involving significant travel, and must possess a strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, particularly high-voltage and CAN/LIN networks, with a preference for electric/hybrid vehicle experience and fabrication skills. A clean driving record, including potential Class A CDL operation, and adherence to strict safety and driving standards are essential for this role.
Perform diagnosis and repair of prototype vehicle's
electrical/mechanical/software systems
Fabricate and/or modify existing prototype components/fixtures
Maintain detailed records of all work performed
Maintain test equipment in operational condition by performing routine
maintenance and making minor repairs/adjustments as needed
Install instrumentation, test equipment, and other components on prototype
vehicles in accordance with engineering specifications, standards, and/or test
procedures
Communicate directly with engineers and other technicians to ensure a high level
of technical support
Load and transport prototype vehicles to specified test locations as needed.
(Class A CDL a plus)
Test drive vehicles on closed tracks
