THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Strategist to join our Strategy and Insights (SAIG) team, focusing on MFS's retail advisors and intermediaries outside the United States who utilize the Meridian Luxembourg domiciled family of funds.

This individual will play a crucial role in developing, delivering, and marketing our investment thought leadership. This position requires a deep understanding of our clients, financial markets, investment strategies, and the regulatory environment within Europe and Latin America.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with MFS's Market Insights and Client Strategy, sales, marketing teams, and other subject matter experts to establish and deploy the thought leadership strategy for our clients.
• Maintain deep client and investment market expertise by participating and presenting at client meetings and conferences.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities aligned with MFS investment platform.
• Assist in the creation of client materials and presentations.
• Provide training and support to sales teams and clients.
• The primary focus will be to support both professional buyers and retail advisors within Spain, Italy, and Germany, with potential expansion to other European and South American markets over time.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Help to develop, implement, and deliver a comprehensive ongoing research agenda related to retail advisory and financial intermediary clients outside the US. This includes analyzing industry trends, staying abreast of client preferences, competitor intelligence, and maintaining a deep understanding of issues facing retail advisors and intermediaries.
• Work closely with SAIG team members to lead the development of MFS's thought leadership for this client base, initially focusing on Spain, Italy, and Germany, with plans to expand.
• Represent MFS in industry bodies, participate in working groups, and submit papers to raise the firm’s profile and credibility.
• Travel with distribution colleagues to present MFS's thought leadership to clients, consultants, and prospects.
• Collaborate with relationship managers, sales, and colleagues in SAIG to lead client engagements.
• Develop internal training tools, videos, white papers, and discussion guides to enhance distribution expertise and client dialog.
• Perform additional duties as requested.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor's degree with relevant financial services experience, especially in client advisory work or asset management with retail advisors and intermediaries.
• Fluency in Spanish preferred; Italian or German considered.
• Understanding of issues facing retail advisors and intermediaries in Spain, Italy, and Germany.
• Willingness to be hands-on in campaigns, presentations, and public speaking.
• Experience with investment strategy across asset classes and asset allocation preferred.
• Investment sales or product support experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks within deadlines.
• Creative and innovative thinking to improve client education and empowerment through thought leadership.
