Job summary

Mastek Limited in Leeds is seeking a Sr. Tester with AWS to join a permanent role. You will design and execute API tests, validate back-end data with SQL, and ensure quality across SDLC and Agile teams.

The role expects 8–10 years of testing experience, collaboration with developers and product owners, and integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins). On-site with UK travel to office as required.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of exhaustive experience as a tester or senior tester.
• Must design and execute API tests and validate RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile and testing types.
• Proficient in designing test cases, executing tests, and tracking defects.
• Familiar with agile practices and collaboration with developers and product owners.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, EC2, CloudWatch) in testing.
• Expertise in validating data with SQL and backend testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute API tests using Postman, Playwright, and Cypress.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners and QA teams to clarify requirements.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Perform back-end data validation with SQL and complex queries.

Skills - Tester 8-10 years of exhaustive experience as a tester or senior tester with the following skillsand experience.

• Must have growth mindset, good communication and a team player.
• API Testing & RESTful API Knowledge: Designing/executing API tests using Postman, Playwright,Cypress; deep understanding of RESTful APIs (request/response, status codes, authentication).
• Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies: Includes knowledge ofSDLC, STLC, Agile, and various testing types (functional, regression, integration, unit, system).
• Test Case Management: Proficient in designing test cases, executing tests, identifying defects,and verifying fixes.
• Knowledge of agile practices: Understanding of agile principles and experience working in anagile team (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), along with ability to collaborate closely with developers,product owners, and other team members to clarify requirements and ensure high-qualitysoftware delivery within iterative development cycles.
• AWS Familiarity: Experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, EC2, CloudWatch) in testSQL

Expertise:

• Validating data and back-end testing using SQL; writing complex queries forfunctional/integration testing.
• Defect Management: Tracking, prioritizing, reporting bugs, and root cause analysis.
• Quality Assurance: Promoting quality standards and contributing to a culture of quality acrossteams.
• Collaboration Tools: Familiar with GitHub (version control) and Jira (collaboration).
• CI/CD Integration: Integrating automated tests into pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLabCI).

Performance/Security Testing (optional): Exposure to JMeter or any other security testing
tools.
