AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Aurora Limitless Database takes the conventional Amazon Aurora further for scalability and high write throughput. Current data generation and data processing requires a database that can scale virtually to any limits and give a high write throughput. Limitless database exactly covers this aspect of the organization's needs with the obvious benefit of pay-what-you-use model.

Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL Limitless team is looking for an engineer to work and collaborate with other engineers, database engineers (DBEs), stakeholders and build the high quality distributed databases for cloud. An ideal candidate for this position will be an engineer who has extensive experience working on designs and implementation of highly available communication layer components and protocols, experience with building scalable components in distributed systems, and knowledge of distributed databases.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2. 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
3. 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
4. Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
5. 5+ years of building communication layers and protocols within distributed systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
2. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
3. Building scalable and highly available components in distributed systems
