A leading company is seeking a Sr Program Manager for Transporter Safety to coordinate safety documents, monitor metrics, and manage high-impact projects. The role requires a strong background in project management and transportation knowledge, along with excellent communication skills. Global Road Safety’s mission is to “lead the world’s safest transportation network, protecting the lives of people on road everywhere”. Global Road Safety (GRS) covers all miles and all business units in all countries (22 total) where Amazon conducts on-road operations. GRS is structured into a hybrid field and corporate organization, with six key pillars (Incident Investigations, Risk, Assurance, Standards/Policies, Tech and Services). GRS is also, associated with the Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) horizon vision to be the global benchmark for safety excellence across all like industries, utilizing the six horizon pillars (Data Intelligence, Safety Design, Ergonomic Improvements, Technology, Risk Reduction, and People & Perception).
Key job responsibilities
Coordinate and craft Global Road Safety documents. Including but, not limited to monthly business reviews, VP level WBRs and serious incident/injury report outs.
Monitor and understand key GRS safety metrics.
Be the gate keeper for change management requests that involve transportation processes.
Present documents and information to director and VP level leaders.
Identify injury/incident trends. Collaborate with team members to create and action high impact projects based on those identified trends.
PM high impact projects by working with other GRS pillar team members.
Craft safety awareness products that provide instruction, guidance and clarity to our on-road partner teams.
A day in the life
- A Bachelor degree or equivalent level of qualification in line with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)
- Relevant Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Relevant Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Relevant Experience in program or project management
- Communication and content creation experience
- Relevant transportation knowledge and experience
- Relevant experience of transportation management
- Relevant program management experience
- Experience leading and manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Experience managing upward
- Previous VP level document writing and support
- Relevant communication and content creation experience
- Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar accreditation.
