Job Purpose
The Sr Manager Medical Governance for digital and technology supports the Director of Medical Governance for digital and technology in coordinating the review and approval of digital and technology tools in accordance with the SAMD and responsible AI framework compliance processes. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of AI governance in R&D.
This role will also support the R&D organization in navigating.
Key Responsibilities
- Communication and Collaboration: Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding AI governance and SaMD-related inquiries. Facilitate communication between the R&D AI Governance team, Business Owners, and other relevant departments.
- Critically review Accountability Report submissions: Ensure completeness and work with Business/Tech Owners to update as needed in preparation for reviews.
- Review Coordination:
- Monitor incoming requests and follow up promptly.
- Organize briefing materials for Chair/panel review and provide preliminary assessments.
- Incorporate feedback from reviews and share with Business Owners for next steps.
- Schedule and coordinate Expert Panel meetings, support decision documentation, and ensure timely follow-up.
- Manage meeting minutes and document filing.
Tracking and Metrics: Maintain oversight of ARs and trackers, generate metrics and KPIs.Medical Governance & Standards: Contribute to developing processes, standards, and tools to ensure safe and ethical use of digital tools in R&D.Training & Awareness: Support the development of training programs to educate stakeholders on governance frameworks surrounding digital technologies.Issue Management: Support issue resolution and escalate when necessary.Risk Management: Assist in developing strategies to identify and assess risks related to digital health technologies deployment.Innovation Oversight: Support consultancy questions on new digital technologies and applications.Communication: Aid in developing communication strategies for successful deployment of medical governance frameworks.Why You?
Basic Qualifications
- Expertise in regulation guidelines and GSK medical governance policies applicable to R&D.
- Over 3 years of experience in digital and technology in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements from FDA, EMA, and local regulations like 21 CFR Part 820.
- Experience in governance activities with knowledge of R&D, medical, commercial, and compliance functions.
- Familiarity with external codes and standards.
- Proven experience managing complex projects involving senior management.
- Experience in change management projects.
- Strategic thinking and implementation skills.
- Team management, coaching, and mentoring experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in AI/ML.
- Knowledge of R&D environment, policies, and regulations.
- Understanding of GSK strategy and organizational links.
- Sense of urgency, excellent communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
- Problem-solving abilities in a matrix environment.
- Self-motivated, independent worker, credible with colleagues.
