Description

We are seeking a dynamic leader to join our team as the Senior Manager of Developer Relations for the UKI and Europe North region. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead our efforts to engage with developers, foster deep connections, and drive adoption of AWS services across the region during this transformative era of generative AI.

As the leader of Developer Relations in the area, you will lead a talented team of Developer Advocates, Community Managers, and Developer Marketing managers distributed across multiple countries. You will partner with leaders in Field Marketing, Public Relations, Solutions Architects, and other stakeholders to win the hearts and minds of developers through resonant messaging and trust-building initiatives.

Key job responsibilities
  • Technical Leader: Mentor and guide a distributed team of Developer Advocates, fostering growth, and empowering them to deliver exceptional results. Cultivate a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team culture. Provide technical guidance, raise content standards, serve as the voice of developers from the region within AWS, and partner with service teams to improve the developer experience.
  • Community Leader: Foster deep connections with the developer community through various channels, including events, meetups, online communities, and more.
  • Business Leader: Align with Sales, Service Teams, and Marketing stakeholders on regional priorities. Own strategic initiatives to engage developers across segments and report on progress through business narratives.
  • Marketing Leader: Collaborate with AWS marketing teams. Influence messaging in campaigns and product positioning. Develop and execute strategic content and event plans to ensure impactful experiences for technical audiences.
A day in the life

Foster developer connections, gather insights to shape AWS services, and drive engagement across UKI and Europe North. Lead team initiatives, participate in product briefings, engage online communities, plan events/content strategies, advocate internally for developers, and present at major developer events.

Basic Qualifications
  • Proven experience managing and leading technical teams
  • 5+ years in developer relations or customer-facing roles
  • Strong software development background
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
