Job description

We are a technology team formed to solve an exciting challenge: how do we design, run, and monitor the global Amazon transportation network while optimizing for customer experience, quality, carbon emissions, and cost? We are seeking a rock star Analytics Manager to join our growing team to help establish processes around accurate data collection, processing, modeling, and analysis.

In this role, you will work closely with leaders across product, UX, and finance to support and implement high-quality, data-driven decisions. You will use advanced data modeling, predictive modeling, and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from Amazon’s data and leverage these insights into initiatives that support business outcomes.

You should be able to effectively partner, communicate, and earn trust across teams while leading a team of business intelligence engineers delivering KPIs, building rapid data prototypes. You have expertise in mining large and diverse data sets, data visualization, writing SQL queries, building rapid prototypes, and generating insights that enable leaders to make critical business decisions.

You are an effective communicator with superior relationship-building skills, capable of persuading, inspiring, and motivating others. You have experience guiding and supporting engineers with industry best practices and are comfortable with ambiguity, communicating clearly at all levels of the company. You are motivated to achieve results in a fast-paced environment, willing to roll up your sleeves, and capable of breaking down complex problems into meaningful tasks.

Key job responsibilities

1. Establish and clearly communicate organizational vision, goals, and success measures.
2. Lead a team of Business Intelligence Engineers who use data and metrics to drive decision-making.
3. Interface with global stakeholders, product managers, data engineers across time zones to gather requirements, analyze data, and draw conclusions.
4. Evaluate ideas, conduct analyses, validate hypotheses, and collaborate with stakeholders to support decision-making.
5. Produce written recommendations and insights to shape product development and drive adoption.
6. Use quantitative and qualitative data to prioritize and influence projects, demonstrating creativity and innovation.
7. Engage in rapid data prototyping and gather early customer feedback.
8. Design, develop, and maintain metrics, reports, dashboards, and analyses to support business decisions.
9. Report on input and output metrics, providing feedback to product development and leadership.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of SQL and Excel
