The Senior Global Data Governance and Compliance Manager will lead the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of Choreograph's data governance and compliance framework. This role ensures the integrity, security, and ethical use of data across the organization while driving alignment with global regulatory requirements and business objectives. The manager will spearhead data stewardship, risk mitigation, and compliance initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to promote data literacy, enforce policies, and maintain Choreograph's reputation for data excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data governance strategy aligned with organizational goals and risk appetite, working with senior stakeholders.
- Oversee the integration of AI, machine learning, and cloud-based solutions into data governance processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Advise leadership on data governance strategies to support digital transformation, innovation, and competitive advantage.
- Maintain and enhance the data governance framework, including policies, standards, metrics, and best practices.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure proactive adaptation.
Policy & Compliance- Work with legal and privacy teams to implement and maintain robust data governance policies ensuring compliance with regulations like GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and the EU AI Act.
- Champion ethical data practices, aligning with ESG principles and consumer trust objectives.
- Monitor and enforce policies through audits, reporting, and corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver training programs to ensure adherence to governance and compliance standards.
Data Stewardship & Collaboration- Establish and lead a data stewardship program to promote accountability and data quality.
- Collaborate with Legal, Security, Privacy, IT, and Cybersecurity teams to embed governance into operational workflows.
- Drive data literacy initiatives to foster a data-driven culture.
- Facilitate governance committees and working groups to align strategies and resolve issues.
- Partner with IT to implement and optimize governance tools.
Risk Management & Monitoring- Identify, assess, and mitigate data-related risks, including those with reseller models and client interactions.
- Define and track KPIs to measure governance effectiveness, focusing on risk reduction, compliance costs, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct audits of governance processes, controls, and compliance practices.
- Report on governance performance, risks, and compliance to senior leadership.
Reseller Vetting & Client Screening- Oversee reseller vetting processes aligned with SOPs.
- Analyze data usage to detect anomalies, investigate misuse, and resolve compliance issues with stakeholders.
Reporting & Communication- Communicate governance updates, requirements, and risks effectively to teams, resellers, and clients.
- Escalate significant issues to leadership with actionable recommendations.
Education- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Data Science, Legal Studies, or related field; Master’s preferred.
Experience- Experience in data governance, management, or compliance, including leadership roles.
- Proven expertise in frameworks, policies, and compliance monitoring.
- Deep knowledge of global data protection regulations.
- Experience with reseller vetting, client screening, and due diligence.
- Familiarity with AdTech, digital marketing, or related industries (highly desirable).
Skills- Designing and implementing governance frameworks and compliance processes.
- Familiarity with AI governance tools and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake).
- Ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and drive cross-functional initiatives.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with governance platforms and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
